The wire we use in our necklaces is of the finest quality. It is made up of 49 strands of stainless steel woven into a wire of 12kg breaking strain. It is then 24ct gold or Fine Silver plated and finally coated with nylon. This final coating of nylon stops the plating from wearing off and the metal tarnishing. It also means if you have sensitive skin the wire is not touching you. The black wire is the same 49 strand stainless steel wire but sprayed black and then the nylon coating. The other material we use is monofilament (fishing line). It took a lot of research before we settled on this brand of monofilament, selected for its clarity, surface and suppleness. Let me assure you not all fishing lines are the same.
